History
Focusing on the financial needs of each individual consumer while serving the community as
a whole is what keeps the staff of Lapeer County Community Credit Union busy everyday.
Offering full-service financial offerings such as checking and share accounts, mortgages, among others, Lapeer County Community Credit Union concentrates its efforts on what it does best: providing consumer-oriented services at affordable prices.
The credit union has experienced tremendous growth over the last 5 years. From its establishment in 1954 to 1974, the credit union had started out serving only employees of the State Home, then in 1974 an addition was made to the charter and was re-named the Public Employees Credit Union, serving city, county, and state employees.
In
the 1970s, credit unions were approved for checking accounts and market growth
followed. When the State of Michigan began closing some of its state home facilities
in 1980, the Public Employees Credit Union moved from its location at the state home to
its present location on Lapeer Road.
Its focus changed again in 1985 when membership to the credit union was opened to anyone that lives or works in the Lapeer County area. The name officially changes to Lapeer County Community Credit Union, but that's not the end of the story.
Since that time, nine ATMs have been added to better serve customers, including two in the Lapeer location, two at the Myers Road Branch, one at our Imlay City Branch, the Lapeer CountyCourt House, Farm Credit Services,Ray C's Cycle and now serving Lapeer Regional Medical Center.
The Lapeer County Community Credit Union added a new branch location, in Imlay City in 2004 , the Myers Road Branch in 2001, and a new branch location in Deerfield Plaza North Branch in 2006.

The member is the credit union's highest priority, we are a strategically driven
