Shares Draft Account (Checking)

Four dollars per month service fee, you pay for your draft printing cost, your own stop payment request, and photo copies if needed. Write as many drafts as you need with no additional charge. Free drafts with direct deposit of Social Security and/or pension checks to credit union.

Benefits of Your Share Draft Account:

$200.00 minimum balance required to void the monthly fee.
Detailed Records - Monthly statements and draft copies provide an easy way to keep up with expenses.
Proof of Payment - Photostatic copies can be obtained if needed.
Convenience - Drafts allow payment by mail rather than in person. Your payroll deduction can go directly to your draft account, no more standing in line.
Credit Reference - When you use, and properly maintain a draft account, your credit union becomes one of your best credit references.
Stop Payment - May be ordered if the draft has not yet cleared.
Tax Records - Copies are helpful references when preparing tax returns.
Net Check - Receive a free checking account.

Share Draft Policies

No minimum balance required.
Maintain a balance of $200.00 in shares or checking - no service charge.
Monthly service charge of $4.00 debited at the end of each month.
Retirees on direct deposit or members of Club 55 receive free drafts and service charge.
Cost of printing checks varies depending on style.
Draft charges will be taken from the draft account after member receives drafts.
Copies of canceled drafts are $ 3.00.
Stop payment charges are $ 30.00.
Drafts having non-sufficient funds will be charged $ 30.00. The charge will be taken from the draft account.
Members will receive monthly statements. There is a $ 1.00 charge to have additional statements printed.
Overdrafts covered by automatic transfers from shares will be in the exact amount of overdraft.
Money will not be transferred to cover overdrafts on accounts that delinquent loans.
Drafts will not be ordered on accounts with delinquent loans.
Members misusing draft accounts will have their draft account closed, (overdrawing account) writing drafts on a zero balance.
Members needing assistance balancing their account will be charged $ 10.00 the first time, $ 20.00 the second time. There is no charge if it is found that the credit union is at fault.
It is the members responsibility to balance their account each month, make sure deposits were recorded properly, and that drafts cleared for the correct amount. You must retain your receipt in order for us to research problems with a transaction.

ATM Policies

TO AVOID ATM FEES, YOU CAN:
Be on direct deposit of social security or retirement.
Maintain a minimum balance of $200.00 in savings or checking.
Or use only "Lapeer Co. Comm. Credit Union" ATM's.
All other usage will result in a charge of $1.00 per transaction to be deducted from the account activated by your ATM card.
There is a $30.00 charge for any returned checks.
Any member misusing their ATM card will have it taken away by the credit union.
